Paul Marshall was born Paul Marshall Solomon, and raised in Southern California. He loved listening to his grandmother's 78 rpm record collection, and later, the rock & roll and country music that came from the radio and television.

At age 13, he started playing guitar, and with two friends formed the band that would eventually become The Beauchemins. They were signed by Bob Keane in 1966 and became Mustang Records recording artists, releasing singles while Paul was still in High School. After a couple of years at UCSB, Paul returned to L.A. in 1969 and joined the million selling band, the Strawberry Alarm Clock, touring, recording, and featuring an appearance in the cult classic, Beyond the Valley of the Dolls.

A couple years later, he bought a bass, and soon was gigging with Hank Thompson, Johnny Tillotson, George Highfill, Mary Kay Place, and many others and recording for labels both major and indie. Paul has been writing songs since his first Mustang record release, and some of those who have recorded them include Patty Loveless, Juice Newton, Highway 101, Jill Sobule, and Boy Howdy.

He's also done some producing, including a 1970's re-recording by Jon and Sondra Steele of the self-penned classic, “My Happiness”, Russell Scott and His Red Hots, Single Bullet Theory, Rebekah Florence, and The MacMammals. Paul's solo CD, Weed and Water, was co-produced by childhood chum and gold record winning engineer, Steve Pouliot.

Now a member of the notorious and award winning I See Hawks In L.A., Paul can be found with them around Los Angeles, across the U.S.A., and around the world.

Some of his writing credits include a song for the Robin Williams movie, Man Of The Year, two songs for the TV show, The Riches, and an I See Hawks In L.A. song featured on a compilation album along with artists like Judy Collins and Jack Tempchin.
